About Jesica's Work
I have experience as researcher and coordinator of projects regarding sustainable management of forests, natural resources (biomass), supply chains and bioeconomy. All in all, I think systematically considering economic, social and environmental "opportunities and challenges" tackling climate change. And much more of personal interest - is how these effect on Biodiversity.
I have a BSc on Environmental Biology from the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University (Colombia) and a MSc in Forest and Nature Management from Copenhagen University (Denmark). I've worked with business management for sustainability and Natural Capital Accounting (NCA) at COWI Denmark and Climate KIC Nordic.
I'm a good team player with robust experience developing projects regarding the business sector and academia, where biodiversity, ecosystem services, natural resource management and risk management, among others, have been part of my research activities.
I've been involved in a number of projects to formulate procedures, policies, and guidelines for assigned forest management programs, as well as development program goals and plans for sustainability implementation. I'm a project developer soul, focused on Sustainable Land Use.
As an environmental biologist, I believe that we can work in collaboration with many other actors in order to tackle and solve real global climate challenges. I'm passionate about systems thinking and any from experiences in water, air, soil, and forests, ecological mapping of flora and fauna, stakeholders surveys, and GIS/spatial data analysis.
I speak Spanish, fluent English and Danish and can manage Portuguese.
