About Jeff's Work
I am Professor of Landscape Ecology, with a primary focus in wildlife ecology, in the Warnell School of Forestry & Natural Resources at the University of Georgia. I apply spatial data and modeling techniques to ecological and social systems to measure patterns and processes, and to explore the interactions between coupled natural and human systems. I then apply this knowledge to aid in the planning for and conservation of natural and human resources. I do research primarily on the spatial ecology of terrestrial vertebrates. I specialize in the use of remotely sensed imagery and animal locations, including movement data, to elucidate patterns of resource selection and then map habitat and changes in habitat across large spatial extents at fine spatial resolutions. I teach undergraduate and graduate courses in geospatial analysis and graduate courses in Landscape Ecology and movement ecology of animals.
