About Javier G.'s Work

I'm an economist with 17+ years of experience working as academic and practitioner for sustainable development initiatives implemented in tropical countries. I  completed my Ph.D. in Environmental Studies and Resources Management at the Crawford School of Public Policy of the Australian National University (ANU) in 2021. The themes that I have covered with my research over the last years include nature conservation incentives (PES, REDD+, forest certification, etc.), agri-food chains governance (cacao, coffee), impact evaluation of forestry and environmental policies, and spatial Statistics/Econometrics. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to be a proactive member of interdisciplinary and multicultural teams applying these frameworks, instruments and methods for addressing global challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss and poverty eradication.
