About Hanuman Singh's Work
Dr. Hanuman Singh Jatav is a highly accomplished Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry at Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner, Rajasthan. With over eight years of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership, Dr. Jatav specializes in soil fertility management, biochar technology, sewage sludge reuse, micronutrient dynamics, and heavy metal pollution, with a focused commitment to climate-resilient and sustainable agriculture. His interdisciplinary research addresses critical areas such as soil-plant–environment interactions, nutrient cycling, carbon sequestration, restoration ecology, and climate-smart agriculture.
He obtained his B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture from MPUAT, Udaipur, and completed both M.Sc. (Ag.) and Ph.D. in Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry from the esteemed Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi.
Renowned for his significant contributions to sustainable soil and plant health management, Dr. Jatav has a prolific academic record with over 120 publications, including peer-reviewed research articles, reviews, book chapters, and technical reports. He has authored and edited several academic books with reputed publishers such as Springer, Taylor & Francis, CRC Press, Apple Academic Press, IntechOpen, Jaya and NIPA. Notably, his books are Amazon bestsellers and have been aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
He serves in editorial and peer-review roles for several high-impact journals under Springer, Elsevier, MDPI, Frontiers, Taylor & Francis, CSIRO, PLOS One, HINDAWI, IWA, and ICAR journals. Currently, he is the Guest Editor for special issues in Frontiers in Agronomy, SN Applied Sciences, Discover Soil, and Research in Ecology, and is also an editorial board member for numerous international journals in the fields of agriculture and environmental sciences.
Dr. Jatav has represented Indian agricultural science on the global stage, delivering invited lectures in Russia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and the USA, including a stint as Visiting Professor at Southern Federal University, Rostov-on-Don, Russia. He has participated in over 40 scientific conferences and completed more than 35 advanced training programs in Earth Observation/Remote Sensing, Artificial Intelligence, Climate Change, Soil Health, and Geospatial Technologies, conducted by organizations such as ISRO-IIRS, ICAR, Oxford Climate Society, FAO–UN, and others.
Dr. Jatav has received numerous prestigious accolades, including the NSS Karamveer Award (2023), Outstanding Assistant Professor Award at SKNAU, and the Ambassador Certificate from IUCN, Switzerland. His contributions have also been recognized by FAO–UN, ICAR, ISRO, and several government and international agencies.
He holds active memberships in over 15 national and international scientific societies, including the Indian Society of Soil Science, Soil Science Society of America, American Society of Agronomy, PGPR Society USA, ISEIS Canada, British Ecological Society, Society for Conservation Biology USA, and networks under FAO–UN like GLOSOLAN and SEALNET.
