About Hamid's Work

Mr. Ahmad has specialization in Post-Production Aspects of Meat & Livestock Products, Food Regulatory Affairs Halal slaughter of Food Animals and Animal Welfare. He got his postgraduate education from Sydney University, Australia. Mr. Ahmad  has worked for Pakistan Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR), a national premier R & D organization of the Govt. of Pakistan. He won a project funding from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada. He has exchanged experience in India, Thailand, Germany, France, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, UK, China, Japan. Philippines & Australia. In 2014 he was awarded Endeavour Professional Excellence Award Pakistan by the Govt. of Australia.  His was involved in the evaluation of EC project DialRel   “Religious slaughter, improving knowledge and expertise through dialogue and debate on issues of welfare, legislation and socio-economic aspects”, in Barcelona & Istanbul. He has worked as consultant to Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA), Sydney  in the Middle East countries, FAO Rome in The Philippines, EC Brusells,Belgium in project evaluations, Micronutrient Intitiative (MI) / Nutrition Internaternational (NI) of Canada etc. He has about three dozen publications and a manuscript for FAO book, “Meat and Meat Products in Human Nutrition in Developing Countries” (FAO-Nutrition Paper No.53Catalog No. ISBN-92-5-103146-0, 1992). He is Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), TokyoDAAD German Fellow, BonnAustralian Global Alumni and Professional MemberCanadian Institute of Food Science & Technology. He has been Chairman, Pakistan Society of Food Scientists and Technologists (PSFST), Lahore Chapter & General Secretary, Australian Alumni Association of Pakistan (AAAP).
