About Guilherme's Work

Ph.D. in Environment and Society from UNICAMP, M.Sc. in Ecology from INPA, and B.Sc. in Biological Sciences from UFSCar, with solid fieldwork experience in the Amazon, including floristic data collection and questionnaire application in traditional communities. Throughout his career, he has been involved in interdisciplinary research, focusing during his Ph.D. on Human Ecology and the relationships between society and nature in the Amazon. He has developed proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative methods, including multivariate analyses, and is skilled in programming languages (R, Python, and JavaScript) for data processing, particularly geospatial data.

He has teaching experience at the Institute of Geosciences at UNICAMP, where he collaborated for a semester in the Population Studies course. He has published articles in international journals in the fields of Ecology, Environmental Sciences, and Earth Observation/Remote Sensing. He is a member of the Amazon Tree Diversity Network, ForestPlot, and SynTreeSys Network, contributing to broad-scale research on Neotropical flora.

Since the beginning of his academic training, he has undertaken internships abroad, fostering collaborations with national and international researchers across various fields. He serves as a reviewer for the journals Biological Conservation, Wetlands Ecology and Management, and Administração Contemporânea.
