Giorgio Vacchiano

A researcher in forest management and planning at the University of Milan, he studies simulation models to support sustainable forest management, mitigation, and adaptation to climate change and natural disturbances in European temperate forests. He works in science education and communication, has published numerous scientific publications, and in 2018 was named by the journal Nature among the 11 best emerging scientists in the world who are "making their mark on science." He is a member of the Italian Society of Silviculture and Forest Ecology (SISEF), where he coordinates the communication working group, and of the Ecological Society of America (ESA). He is the author of "La resilienza del bosco" (Mondadori, 2019). He is president of Climate Media Center Italia.
