About Frank's Work

Frank Mintah is a PhD Researcher at the Institute of Geography, University of Bern, Switzerland. He holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Planning (Land Use Planning and Land Governance) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana, with an extended research stay at the Chair of Land Management, Technical University of Munich (TUM), in Germany.

His PhD research focuses on: Governance arrangements that work for sustainable forest use and management in agricultural landscapes of West Africa. Institutional processes of decision making, policies and regulations influence forest use and management, with implications on resource sustainability. Understanding such dynamics - within a complex socio-ecological system - at multiple governance levels will lead to the identification of appropraite governance pathways that will ensure sustainable forest management and human well-being.
