About Floor's Work

Floor van der Hilst is an Associate Professor at the Copernicus Institute for Sustainable development of Utrecht University in the Netherlands. She is the co-chair of IEA Bioenergy Task 45 on sustainability. Her research focusses on sustainable land use; the synergies and trade offs between sustainability impacts of land uses. She specifically focuses on the spatiotemporal Simulation Modelling (ABM/Predictive/Economic modelling) of land use change and related sustainability impacts. She coordinates various international research programs and supervises several PhD candidates. She coordinates the course Land Change Science in the interdisciplinary Bachelor programme Global Sustainability Science.
