About Eduardo's Work
Eduardo Gomes (EG) holds a Ph.D. in Geography and is currently an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning, University of Lisbon. His research focuses on developing models and collaborative simulations to study changes in land use and land cover. His publications emphasize geospatial modeling, land use dynamics, and decision-making processes. EG has been a Visiting Research Fellow at renowned institutions worldwide, including the Institut des Systèmes Complexes de Paris (France), the Future Cities Laboratory (Singapore), the University of Copenhagen (Denmark), at Mykolas Romeris University - Environmental Management Centre (Lithuania), and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (Australia). In recognition of his work, he was honored with the Portuguese National Geography Award in 2020 for the best Ph.D. thesis (Orlando Ribeiro). Beyond his research, EG is an active member of the scientific community, contributing as an editor and reviewer for several prestigious academic journals.
