About Dr. Subrata's Work

Dr. Subrata Ghosh completed his Master’s degree in Geography and Environmental Management from Vidyasagar University in 2015 and earned his doctoral degree from the same university in 2023 under the Faculty of Science. He has successfully cleared the UGC NET–JRF examination four times and was awarded the Junior Research Fellowship on two occasions. Dr. Ghosh has authored more than 26 research articles, including 11 publications in SCI-indexed journals with high impact factors, covering diverse areas such as geography, environmental studies, urban ecology, landscape planning, ecosystem management, and urban climate. He has actively participated in and presented research findings at several national and international seminars and conferences. He has over five years of teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and served as a resource person at Sadhu Ramchand Murmu University of Jhargram during the period 2022–2024. He was awarded the ICSSR Post-Doctoral Fellowship for the period 2024–2026. Dr. Ghosh is proficient in GIS software and statistical programming tools and has reviewed more than 50 manuscripts for reputed national and international journals. He has extensive experience with advanced quantitative and geospatial methods, including landscape metrics, spatial statistics, multi-criteria decision-making models, and machine learning–based spatial frameworks. His academic work seeks to bridge theory, spatial analytics, and policy-relevant applications, contributing to evidence-based urban planning and environmental governance, with particular emphasis on linking ecological integrity, urban livability, and sustainable development across Global South and comparative global contexts.
