Dr Mahesh K GAUR

I am working as Principal Scientist-Geography and in-charge of Cartography & Land Use Laboratory Lab as well as Geoinformatiics lab since 2012. My main areas of research are: Environment & Aridlands Geography with an emphasis on application of Geospatial (RS & GIS) techniques for natural resources mapping, landuse/ land cover mapping, management and assessment; drought, land degradation and desertification; indigenous knowledge systems as well as socio-economic milieu of the hot and cold arid zones of India. Apart from >60+research papers, 70 book chapters, 30 popular scientific articles, 3 research bulletins, I have co-edited 12 books. Prior to present position, I have worked as Associate Professor for 14 years teaching Environment Geography, Physical Geography and RS & GIS at graduate and post-graduate level.
