About Dr. Hermann's Work
I am a policy analyst at the Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP), working within the CAP and Food team.
In addition, I am a postdoctoral researcher with an active interest in better understanding the intersections between policy, land use and ecosystems in the UK. Specifically, I seek to incorporate a more interdisciplinary approach to examining the synergies and conflicts between agri-environmental policies, the farming sector and conservation efforts in the UK countryside.
My PhD research was in environmental policy. Specifically, it investigated the fit for purpose a new suite of agri-environmental policies in the UK has in the face of an increasingly diverse land management community, and how landholder collaborations can be better facilitated to deliver greater conservation outcomes on a landscape scale.
I specialise in UK agricultural policy, with extensive experience in mixed-method social science research.
