About Divyesh's Work

Dr. Divyesh Varade is a budding expert on Earth Observation/Remote Sensing and spatial analysis. He received his PhD degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Geoinformatics from IIT Kanpur in 2020 and his master’s degree in the International Program on Earth Oriented Space Science and Technology at the Technical University of Munich. His primary research interests are deepening the understanding of the cryosphere using Earth Observation/Remote Sensing, agricultural applications of microwave Earth Observation/Remote Sensing, and inversion of surface geophysical parameters. His expertise on Earth Observation/Remote Sensing (multispectral, hyperspectral, thermal, microwave) integrates physical and mathematical Simulation Modelling (ABM/Predictive/Economic modelling), information theory, statistical analysis and machine learning. His research interests further include studies on glaciers, sea ice, and permafrost. He is working to derive Earth Observation/Remote Sensing-based solutions to broader problems in Earth observation, agriculture, and water resources.
