About Delwendé Innocent's Work
A seasoned leader in science and policy for development, he has held high-level responsibilities including Minister of Agriculture, Head of a research department, and coordinator of international projects and soil laboratories, while offering expertise such as contributing to Africa’s model law on soil health. With strong experience in rural development, he has mobilized millions of USD for research and development projects, trained more than 500 farmers, and mentored over 25 students. A bilingual scientist (French and English), he has produced 30+ peer-reviewed publications, 30 leaflets, and 30 presentations, actively disseminating knowledge to diverse audiences. His excellence has been recognized through prestigious awards, including the Belgian Development Cooperation Prize, the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship, the FRSIT prizes, FARA finalist recognition, and the CSRS-Fond Eremitage award.
