His research interests are mainly about land-use change and its socio-ecological processes through Geospatial and statistical approaches. Now his research focuses on the dynamics of cultivated land and its impact on Food Security/Sovereignty, crop production, and the ecological environment. Specifically, there is land degradation, farmland abandonment, farmland protection policies, and ecological compensation for farmland protection, etc.
