About Dario's Work
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Valladolid. My research focuses on two main areas: (i) assessing the value of forest ecosystems and their dynamics as carbon and biodiversity reservoirs, particularly under threats such as wildfires and pest outbreaks; and (ii) spatially characterizing urbanization dynamics, examining their relationship with socioeconomic variables and land-use change, with the aim of promoting compact, sustainable, and livable urban environments. My research integrates GIS tools, remote sensing techniques, and a range of spatial and statistical modeling approaches.
