About Danka's Work

Danka Moravcikova is an associate professor at the Institute of Marketing, Trade and Social Studies at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. She is also the head of the Section for Rural Sociology and Sociology of Agriculture within the Slovak Sociological Society at the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava. The research activities and publications have addressed the issues related to the socio-economic transformation of rural areas and agriculture in the context of globalisation. In the field of social studies, she currently focuses on issues related to sustainable agriculture and sustainable food systems, on social science analyses of land-use strategies in the context of climate change and biodiversity challenges, as well as on issues related to social innovation. She has been coordinating several research and educational projects both on the national and international level (e.g. FP7, DTP Interreg, H2020, Horizon Europe).
