About Daniel's Work
I hold a joint PhD in Landscape Ecology and Resource Conservation from Wageningen University and Montpellier SupAgro, as well as a joint MSc from the University of Freiburg and the University of Eastern Finland. Over the past decade, I have conducted research in both Guatemala and Brazil, focusing on the intersection of Landscape Ecology and land change science to inform policy and technical decision-making. My work integrates spatial analysis, statistical approaches, and mixed-methods tools to support landscape-based research at local and Regional (subnational) levels. I am also increasingly engaged with the critical environmental humanities as a complementary lens to interrogate the socio-ecological dimensions of sustainability.
