About Consuelo's Work

I hold a PhD in Agricultural Engineering and I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics and Social Sciences at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), where I am a member of the International Economics and Development research group.
My research focuses on agricultural economics and rural policy, with particular emphasis on land-use change, farmland abandonment, agri-food system innovation, circular economy, and the sustainability and resilience of rural territories. My work combines territorial analysis, policy evaluation, and data-driven approaches to support decision-making in agri-food systems and regions facing demographic and environmental challenges.
I currently serve as Director of the AVANT–UPV Chair on the Valencian Agenda against Depopulation and as Vice-Dean for Quality at the Faculty of Business Administration and Management at UPV.
