About Conghe's Work

Dr. Conghe Song is Professor of Geography and Environment at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA. He is an interdisciplinary scholar whose research focuses on three interrelated themes, all of which revolve around land. The first theme is mapping and monitoring land cover/land use and their changes over time using remotely sensed imagery. The second research theme is to understand the ecosystem consequences of land-cover/land-use change, with regard to carbon sequestration and freshwater availability in the context of climate change, using ecosystem models. The third theme of my research is to understand the driving forces of land-cover/land-use change through household surveys and agent-based models.
