About Clare's Work

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the GLUE Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I also completed my Ph.D. My research focuses on understanding the impact that agricultural supply chains have on tropical forests, how environmental policies can promote more forest-friendly production practices, and which actors need to be involved in these processes. I use a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods in my work. My dissertation mapped the cattle supply chain in Colombia to assess deforestation risk associated with it and used a novel big dataset and spatial analysis to estimate the impacts of conservation policies on forests and farms.
