About Chima's Work

Chima Iheaturu is a PhD Researcher at the Institute of Geography, University of Bern, Switzerland. He holds an MSc (2018) in Geospatial & Mapping Sciences from the University of Glasgow, UK and a bachelor’s degree (2014) in Surveying & Geoinformatics from Imo State Univerisity, Nigeria.

His PhD research focuses on the multi-scale Simulation Modelling (ABM/Predictive/Economic modelling) of Spatio-temporal dynamics of forest patches within agricultural landscapes in West Africa. These forest patches maintain ecosystem functions and also contribute ecosystem services to people thus, understanding their spatial and temporal dynamics and the involved factors are important for identifying sustainable ways to ensure their functions and the contributions they make to humans.
