About Chandan's Work
Dr. Chandan Roy is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Economics at the University of York, Mumbaian. He is an environmental and development economist working at the intersection of climate change, land systems, livelihoods and environmental justice in South Asia. His research combines field-based empirical research, econometric analysis and policy evaluation to understand how climate and environmental stresses shape livelihoods, poverty, resource access and resilience. His work focuses particularly on climate-vulnerable landscapes, water accessibility, sustainable livelihoods, environmental quality and natural resource governance, with extensive empirical research in the Indian Sundarbans. He is a member of the York Environmental Sustainability Institute (YESI), UK and engages in international research collaborations on climate change and sustainability.
