About Cassiano's Work
Cassiano is a Civil Engineer from the Federal University of ParanĂ¡, with a master's degree in Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation from ITC/University of Twente (Netherlands) and a doctorate in Geography from the University of Potsdam (Germany). Currently a postdoctoral researcher at the MIT Senseable City Lab, where he conducts data-driven urban science research to investigate how socio-spatial inequalities materialize in the territory and connect to aspects such as mobility, access to opportunities, and exposure to risks and disasters. His work combines geospatial analysis and remote sensing with computational modeling to produce evidence on urban dynamics and support decisions aimed at spatial justice.
