About Carlos's Work

I am a Research Associate at the Department of Geography and the Environment at the University of Texas at Austin. I earned a Ph.D. in Archaeology from University of Paris 1, France. My research interests are GIS and LiDAR applications in Social Sciences, Environmental and Landscape analysis, Settlement Patterns studies, and GIS Modeling of ancient and modern land-use in tropical forests. I have an environmental background with a certificate in GIS working with several environmental firms, energy, and oil companies.
