About Bruno's Work

Bruno holds a bachelor's degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from the University of São Paulo, a master's degree in Territorial Planning and Management from the Federal University of ABC, and is currently a PhD candidate in Environmental Science at the Institute of Energy and Environment of the University of São Paulo.
His research trajectory is focused on the São Paulo Macrometropolis (SPMM), in which he discusses rural-urban interdependencies through spatial flows of ecosystem services.
With a strong focus on interdisciplinarity and complexity, he currently conducts research on spatial networks of ecosystem services, in which he discusses the concept of telecoupling as a key tool to analyze spatial flows of ecosystem services that connect territories of the SPMM, which is characterized by being a highly dynamic and fragmented region, interconnect by flows of people, goods, ecosystem services, and others.
This research is developed in partnership with the FAPESP Thematic Project "MacroAmb: Environmental Governance in the São Paulo Macrometropolis in the face of climate variability" and the FAPESP project "SEGHID: Proposal of guidelines and plans for governance and adaptive water security: technical, participatory and sustainability dimensions in a context of climate change in the Alto Tietê and Paraíba river basins".
