Bo Xiao

Prof. Dr. Bo Xiao is an Associate Professor of Soil Science (Soil Physics) in China Agricultural University. His research interests include: 1) the hydrological and ecological functions of biological soil crusts in arid and semiarid ecosystem and their potential utilization in desertification control; 2) the new technologies in controlling soil and water loss (water erosion, wind erosion), and agriculture non-point source pollutants (nitrogen, phosphorus, herbicide, pesticide, and pathogenic micro-organism); and 3) the application or establishment of models describing soil water dynamics, infiltration-runoff process, soil evaporation, soil and water loss, and nitrogen and phosphorus pollution in agriculture.
