About Barron Joseph's Work

Dr. Barron Joseph Orr is the Lead Scientist for the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). He is tasked with helping ensure a scientific foundation for global policy decisions related to desertification, land degradation and drought, and is co-lead author of the Scientific Conceptual Framework for Land Degradation Neutrality. He is also Professor Emeritus at the University of Arizona.
