Ariani Wartenberg

I´m the GLP´s Land System Science Lead and affiliated with the University of Maryland and the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF). I´m an agroecologist with experience in the public sector and in academia. In my research I´m interested in pathways and methods to incentivize and scale up sustainable land-use, including through integration of digital tools, decision-support systems and participatory or citizen-science approaches. My work also includes assessing socio-ecological trade-off and synergies associated with multiple land-management goals, with a focus on tree-based elements / systems in agricultural landscapes.
