About Ankit's Work
Dr. Ankit Sikarwar is an assistant professor at the Centre for Research on Social Inequalities (CRIS), Sciences Po Paris. He is specialised in population-environment dynamics with expertise in Earth Observation/Remote Sensing and geospatial analysis. He previously engaged in a NASA and USGS-funded project at the University of Minnesota. Prior to this, he worked as a postdoc at the Institut National d'Études Démographiques (INED), Paris, for three years. He holds a Ph.D., M.Phil., and M.P.S. in Population Studies from the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, and an M.Sc. in Geography from the M.S. University of Baroda. Dr. Sikarwar has authored two books and several research articles exploring the population-environment-health nexus and developmental issues. He also serves as the Chair of the Early Career Panel at IUSSP, dedicated to scientific activities for young researchers across the world.
