About Anil's Work

Anil Shrestha completed Ph.D. in Wildlife Ecology from Wageningen University & Research, The Netherlands. He has more than 10 years of interdisciplinary experience in conservation science, gained in Nepal, Norway, South Africa, China, and Canada. He is currently working as a lecturer and research scientist at Faculty of Forestry, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He teaches courses on Wildlife Ecology and Management, Conservation Science and communicating climate change. His research interests span conservation science and natural-based solutions to climate change and biodiversity conservation. His current research focuses on climate change adaptation of species and ecosystems, conservation of threatened species and ecosystems, carbon forest management, restoration of forests, and developing a new generation of protected areas.
