About Andrea's Work
Andrea Gaughan is a professor in the Department of Geographic and Environmental Sciences at the University of Louisville and Associate Dean of Research, Creative Activity, and Scholarship for the College of Arts and Sciences. She also co-directs the Land Systems Lab. Dr. Gaughan is an interdisciplinary scientist who focuses on human-environment dynamics across a range of geographic scales and environments. Her research and collaborations include examination of the spatiotemporal processes that link natural and social science data through a spatial and temporal lens informed by geographic methods. She teaches about our global environment and introduce students to different types of geospatial tools (e.g. remote sensing, geographic information science) that continue to become more prolific in applications of human-environment interaction.
