About Albina's Work

My name is Albina Sinani. I was born in Tirana, Albania, on 22/10/1969. I gratuated in Geography at the University of Tirana (1988-1992). Since 1994, I have worked as a full-time professor at “Eqrem Çabej” University in Gjirokastër. Between 1996 and 2001, I successfully completed a full-time Master’s program in Human Geography, earning a Master’s degree. My microthesis, titled “Dynamics of the Rural Space System in Gjirokastër District, with the Rating”, was awarded the grade “Very good” (2001). In 2009, I completed my dissertation, “Spatial Organization, Rural Regulation and Perspectives of Sustainable Development in the County of Gjirokastra” and was awarded a Doctoral Degree in Geography from the University of Tirana. I earned the academic title of Associate Professor in 2012. From 2016 to 2024, I served as Head of the Department of Geography. Since October 4, 2024, I have been appointed Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences at “Eqrem Çabej” University. I have over 31 years of experience in research and teaching in Rural and Urban Geography. My passion lies in understanding the dynamics of rural and urban environments, particularly in relation to settlements and population. I am excited about the opportunity to participate in this conference, which promotes international collaboration and knowledge exchange in Rural and Urban Geography.
