About Adnane's Work

Dr. Adnane Habib is an Assistant Professor of Geomatics and Earth Observation/Remote Sensing in the Sidi Bennour Polydisciplinary Faculty at Chouaib Doukkali University (UCD). Dr. Habib holds a B.Sc in Earth Sciences and an M.Sc in Geological Engineering from Chouaib Doukkali University. He received his Ph.D. in Geomatics and Geosciences from UCD in collaboration with Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in 2016. Dr. Habib formerly worked as a geoscientist and GIS Analyst in Morocco's private sector, where he led various national projects involving GIS analysis, geotechnical modeling, and geological mapping. After that, he pursued his career in Beijing, China, at the Aerospace Information Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS) as a Postdoctoral Researcher. After then, he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the MAScIR foundation, affiliated with UM6P (Mohammed VI Polytechnic University). His scientific interests include geomorphometry, DEM extraction and enhancement, InSAR, geological and geohazard mapping, and precision agriculture. Dr. Habib was part of several national and international projects that have focused on the use of GIS and Earth Observation/Remote Sensing for agricultural purposes, water resource management, and geological mapping. As the founding president of the Al Idrisi Association of Cartography (AIAC), he has also been deeply involved in scientific mentoring and outreach, with the goal of inspiring the next generation of geoscientists.
