About Abduljabbar's Work

Dr. Abduljabbar Hassan is an accomplished sustainable development and humanitarian leader and environmental advocate with over a decade of experience in youth empowerment, program management, partnership, advocacy, fundraising, and policy development. As Chairman of the International Youth Council – Yemen (IYCY), Dr. Hassan has led transformative initiatives in Food Security, Agriculture & Livelihoods, Health & Nutrition, Climate Resilience, and Education addressing the needs of communities. He has successfully managed large-scale projects funded by international donors, improving food security, enhancing agricultural resilience, and providing essential health, nutrition and education services in Yemen. Under his leadership, IYCY has secured partnerships with major international organizations.

Dr. Hassan’s leadership extends to his role as an Executive Board Member of the Youth-Led AYSRHR Global Roadmap for Action (GRA) at Johns Hopkins University, where he champions youth engagement in reproductive health and rights globally. As an Arabic Region Expert on the UN-ESCWA platform, he advocates for nature-based solutions to climate challenges, ensuring that regional biodiversity conservation efforts are integrated with sustainable agricultural practices. Further he highlights his commitment to addressing climate change and promoting sustainable development in the Arab world.

Throughout his career, Dr. Hassan has been recognized for his ability to bridge the gap between humanitarian action, sustainable development, and youth leadership. His contributions to global forums, including his role as a Focal Point Coordinator for the International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP 2025), have demonstrated his commitment to creating spaces for youth voices in international policy dialogues. He is a dedicated advocate for inclusive development, ensuring that the needs and aspirations of young people and marginalized communities are at the forefront of global action. His strategic expertise in program management, resource mobilization, and policy advocacy and development has supported IYCY in securing key partnerships with international donors and he has contributed to numerous successful initiatives across the Middle East and North Africa.

Dr. Hassan is a passionate advocate for building resilient communities, promoting sustainable livelihoods, fostering youth leadership, and promoting environmental sustainability through inclusive, youth-led, and community-based approaches.
