Wina Khairina, an activist who is concerned with conducting Human Rights Education, Policy Advocacy, Agrarian Research and Natural Resources Management Conflicts in Indonesia. As an anthropologist she has the ability to work with many parties, including Victim Communities, Local Government, NGOs, Academics and Media in Indonesia.
Wina has a bachelor's degree in the Department of Anthropology FISIP USU and a Master's degree in the UNIMED Social Anthropology Postgraduate School. Currently undergoing a doctoral study in Anthropology, FISIP, University of Indonesia. Her last activity was advocating for Regional Regulations on the Stipulation and Procedures for Recognition, Protection and Fulfillment of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in North Sumatra, Tobasa and North Tapanuli in the 2015-2020 period.
Wina is active as a researcher at ARTICLE, ERC (Ethnography Research Center) – FISIP USU, and NSF – Berkeley University. She is one of the teaching staff at USU's FISIP Anthropology. Since the last 7 years she has been one of the active administrators of AAI (Indonesian Anthropological Association) Pengda Sumut. Wina is interested in the issue of the aspirations of indigenous youth in tenure management after the recognition of customary forests in Indonesia.
