I completed my PhD from Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE) & Manipal University, Bangalore, India. My dissertation title is ‘Impact of institutions on land cover change and landscape fragmentation in Indian dry tropical forest landscapes’. I joined department of Earth System Science in Stanford University as a post-doctroal scholar. I am interested in landscape ecology, mainly in exploring institutional linkages towards land cover changes and connectivity in urban and forest environments. I intend to draw on my theoretical and practical experiences in applying Remote Sensing and GIS technologies to conduct further research. I’m interested characterizing landscapes (extent and quality), human impacts on patterns and causes of land use/land cover change, and local community responses to change through institutions and management policies.
