Jean-Christophe Castella, is a senior researcher of the French Institute of Research for Development (IRD) specialized in land use and livelihood systems analysis. Over the past 20 years, he has been involved in international research programs in Southeast Asia. He investigates the impact of agroecological and socioeconomic changes on farmers' practices and decision making. He also contributes to methodological developments on community-based natural resource management and policy mechanisms related to climate change mitigation and adaptation.
