Born on 24 September, 1953. Obtained M.Sc and Ph.D in Agronomy from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, India in 1976 and 1980 respectively.Worked as a scientist and then Chief Scientist and Head at CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Bengaluru, India and led research and development programmes on agro-technoogies of medicinal and aromatic plants in south India and won several awards and recognition for the achievements. Elected Fellow of National Academy of Agricultural Sciences(2003), Indian Society of Agronomy(2007), Indian Society of Spices(2012). Worked as a Chief Scientist and Advisor at the CSIR-Fourth Paradigm Institute( erstwhile Centre for Mathematical Modelling and Computer Simulation), Bengaluru, India where research programmes agriculture-environment modelling programmes are developed.Expert on eco-technologies of aromatic crops and eco-system services of alternate land use systems involving aromatic plants.
