Lead author at the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) Global Assessment and the Brazilian Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. Main academic interests: adaptation to tropical forests, forest governance, shifting cultivation, land use change, Atlantic rainforest, Amazonia, protected areas and Brazilian traditional people (Caboclos, Caiçaras and Quilombolas).
