Call for Nomination of Experts: Scoping Meeting of the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report

In paragraph 6 of Decision IPCC/XLIII-7 on the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) Products –Strategic Planning- the Panel decided “to consider the outline of the Sixth Assessment Report at a Plenary session of the IPCC provisionally scheduled for October 2017”. 
In order to prepare the draft outline (and explanatory notes as appropriate) to be considered by the Panel a Scoping Meeting will be held tentatively on 1-5 May 2017 (venue to be announced).
 
Future Earth, as an observer organization to the IPCC, is invited to nominate experts to participate in the Scoping Meeting of this Special Report. Members of the Future Earth Committees, Secretariat, leaders of Core Projects and Knowledge-Action Networks are invited to propose themselves or colleagues from the Future Earth network for nomination by Future Earth to the scoping meeting on the Special Report.
 
In selecting scoping meeting participants, consideration should be given to the following criteria: scientific, technical and socio-economic expertise, including the range of views; geographical representation; a mixture of experts with and without previous experience in IPCC; gender balance; experts with a background from relevant stakeholder and user groups, including governments. 
 
Please also note that the work of the Scoping Meeting will be conducted only in English. 
 
For each individual application, please fill the nomination form attached (excel file).  Please note that the form has 2 tabsPlease fill all information requested (mandatory fields marked by *). Please send the nomination form with a summary CV (maximum 4 pages) in English and in pdf format no later than Sunday, 30 October 2016 (6pm CEST)to: claire.weill@futureearth.org AND claire.weill@inra.fr.
 
All relevant and complete applications will then be sent to IPCC.
