Metrics That Make A Difference: How To Analyze Change And Error With Applications To Land Change Simulation

Wednesday, July 1, 2020 (All day) to Friday, July 3, 2020 (All day)
Online
Related GLP Member: Robert Pontius

This free online workshop concerns how to measure error and temporal change for a variety of applications, in particular for GIS-based land change simulation.

GLP Member Robert Pontius of Clark University shows how to avoid common mistakes and to use enlightening techniques such as the Total Operating Characteristic and Difference Components.

Professor Pontius illustrates the concepts with a variety of methods to simulate land change. The workshop focuses on concepts, not on specific software.

Participants range from university students to senior scientists. We will conduct the workshop via the teleconference during 9 am -noon (GMT+8) on each of July 1, 2, and 3. Professor Pontius has presented similar workshops during the last two decades in 17 countries (www.clarku.edu/~rpontius/).
